A few quick shots from today’s hike to Comet Falls on Mount Rainier. Steep trail along a cascading mountain stream, and at the top the river splits to a triple fall on the right and the towering Comet Falls on the left. Water flow was low on this warm August day, but I’ve made a note to return when the water is running higher. And perhaps with more dramatic, flattering light than these high-noon images (though without the direct sun, I wouldn’t have got that great rainbow in the second photo).
